INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cup Chicken Broth, Bouillon or Consomme
  • 0 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 0 1/8 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 Tbsp Thick-It-Up
  • 2 tablespoon Unsalted Butter Stick

DIRECTIONS

Don't be intimidated by the French name.  This tasty sauce is easy to make.  The classic version relies on flour as thickener, but our version makes it a perfect low-carb accompaniment.  Change the broth to match the protein you are serving it with; either chicken, beef or fish.  Each serving is 1/2 cup.

  1. Combine broth, salt and pepper in a small saucepan over medium-high heat; bring to a boil.
  2. Whisk in 1 Tbsp Thick-It-Up thickener; simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce thickens, about 3 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat; swirl in butter until melted. Serve warm or refrigerate in an airtight container for up to 5 days.

Cooking Tip

If you’ve tried this sauce and like it, try experimenting with herbs and spices to flavor it your way!
