Now that you know that Atkins is an easy and great-tasting way to lose weight, let’s get started!
1. Assemble your Atkins Tool Kit. Here’s all you need:
- A scale
- A cloth measuring tape
- Download the Atkins Carb Counter and Acceptable Foods List, 2 Week Meal Plan and Shopping List.
- Go to Free Tools to access other great resources, including our mobile app, customized meal planner, recipes, trackers and more.
2. Take a “before” photo.
At first it serves as an ongoing reminder of what you want to change about yourself, and eventually it becomes inspiring proof of your weight loss!
3. Hit the scale and measure up.
Weighing yourself before you begin allows you to track your progress. Also measure your chest, waist, hips and thighs. Enter these numbers in your journal. Once you start Atkins, weigh and your measure yourself once a week.
4. Set your goal weight.
Set a reasonable and realistic to goal to aim for and write it in your journal. Keep in mind that if you have a significant amount of weight to lose, it may be easier to break it into 10- to 15-pound increments.
